Meet the Conservative team for the County Council elections

The campaign for the County Council election on 04 May has started and the Conservatives are fielding a strong team of local candidates.  Following a review by the Boundary Commission the six seats for our area have new boundaries so that each seat has a more equal share of electors.  Our team is:

  • Rory Love – Cheriton, Sandgate and Hythe East
  • Susan Carey – Elham Valley
  • Dick Pascoe – Folkestone East
  • David Monk – Folkestone West
  • David Owen – Hythe West
  • Tony Hills – Romney Marsh

Standing down on 04 May is popular councillor Carole Waters who won election to County Council at two by-elections.  Well known local shopkeeper, Tony Hills is standing in her place.  Dick Pascoe who was a County Councillor for eight years stood down for family reasons in 2013 and is now looking to return.  Susan Carey has represented Elham Valley for twelve years;  Susan is a cabinet member at KCC with responsibility for KCC’s Commercial and Traded Services.  David Monk is Leader of Shepway District Council representing a Folkestone ward and David Owen a Hythe resident and former town mayor of Hythe.

Pictured are five of the candidates with KCC Council Leader, Paul Carter, CBE.
