Tayne Centre Renovation

Monday, 11 June, 2012

Councillor Susan Carey joined Lyminge villagers on Saturday 09 June for the opening of the new kitchen at the Tayne Centre in Lyminge.  The kitchen was identified as the highest priority for renovation by users of the Centre and after nearly two years of fund raising and hard work this first stage of the works to the Tayne Centre is now complete.  It was fittingly celebrated with tea and cakes.  Many individuals had given donations as well as Lyminge Parish Council, Shepway District Council and Kent County Council.  The Tayne Centre is an important community facility located opposite the primary school in the heart of the village.  It is well loved and well used and now well under way its programme of renovation.  Pictured in the new kitchen are John Piddock, Ben Pollard (of Tradex Ltd who designed and installed the kitchen), Mike Foxon and Cllr Susan Carey. Related articles
